The ACR128 DualBoost Smart Card Reader is a secure, economically designed dual-interface smart card reader (Contact and Contactless smart card reader), fully compliant to both ISO 7816 Part 1-3 Class A, B standard for the Contact smart card and to ISO 14443 Part 1-4 Type A, B standard for the Contactless smart card. By combining contact and 13.56 MHz RFID contactless smart card technologies, the dual-interface smart card reader is possible to integrate the contact and contactless smart cards applications which are conventionally separated and independent to each other.

The ACR128 DualBoost Smart Card Reader is PC/SC compliant for contact and contactless interfaces. It makes use of high-speed communication for PICCs (proximity or contactless cards) with maximum speed of 848 kbps like DESFire Cards. Furthermore, this dual-interface smart card reader has intelligent support for hybrid cards and combi cards and it is designed such that it can still detect a contactless card even if it is inserted in the contact card slot!

As different applications require different levels of security and functionality, this dual-interface smart card reader has a built-in SAM card slot for added security. This dual-interface smart card reader uses a landing type card acceptor that minimizes card damage for more reliable card operations.
